Sally is also an ABC Supervisor and is trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy and has completed a number of other trainings such as Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT), Adult Attachment Interview, and Insightfulness Assessment.
Sally commenced her Marte Meo training in 2008, when AAIMH (SA Branch) brought Maria Aarts, the developer of Marte Meo to Adelaide. Sally became a Marte Meo trainer in 2010 and became a Licensed Marte Meo Supervisor in 2012.
ABOUT THE TRAINING
Marte Meo is a strengths-based approach developed in The Netherlands by Maria Aarts. The term is translated from Latin as 'on one's own strength'. This approach helps parents learn practical and concrete ways to interact with their children, strengthening their relationship and supporting their child's social and emotional development.
What is in the training?
In this one-day face-to-face training, you will learn about the Marte Meo Method through a range of video demonstrations of parent-infant/child dyads. This training will help you hone your observational skills and identify the Marte Meo elements of following and leading.
What will you learn?
- The key elements to support social and emotional development through relationships in everyday moments of interaction.
By watching videos demonstrating parent and child interactions, you will gain knowledge on the following topics:
- An overview of the Marte Meo Method
- How to recognise the fundamental supportive communication elements of the Marte Meo Method
- How to use Marte Meo in your daily practice
- An introduction to video interaction analysis
If you are new to Marte Meo, this will help determine if the practitioner training suits you and your practice.
